Step One:
-Download the install package.
You must be a logged-in member to proceed.
-Double-click on the install package to start installation.
You can also install KDX on a portable USB thumb drive! |

Step Two:
-To complete the install, a file is written to your registry. This is normal and safe.
-Click on YES.

Step Three:
-This message is to confirm that the registry change was successful.
-Click on OK. |
 |
Step Four:
-A window will open with complete instructions on how to use KDX.
READ IT before you ask us any questions. This is how we learned to use the software.
By default, this document is located at: C:\Program Files\Midnight Force\KDX\Documentation.pdf.
If you do not have Adobe Reader, you can grab it at the Adobe website. |

Opening the First Time

Shortcuts:
-You now have 2 new shortcuts on your desktop:
=MF=KDX Downloads: this is a shortcut to your download folder
=MF=KDX Server: this is a shortcut to start the program
-Double-Click =MF=KDX Server |

Connecting to server:
-When you start KDX, you will be automatically connected to the Midnight Force File Server.
-You are going to see a crap-load of windows when you open for the first time, but don't worry. Explanations of all these windows are below. |

Welcome Message:
-In the very center of all the windows, you will see the server welcome message.
-Check it for announcements and server hours. |
 |
Control Panel:
This is the KDX main control panel. From here you can:
-Adjust settings
-Open windows (chat, files, messages, etc.)
-If the blue light is flashing on the Message button, then you have a private message. Click to see the message. |

Chat Window:
This is pretty self-explanatory.
-Users are listed on the right side.
-Right-click on any user to send a private message.
-Public chat messages are listed in main window.
-Type your public chat messages below public chat window. |

File Browser:
This is what it is all about, files!
-Directories on the left, files on the right.
-Double-click on a file to start a download. |
 |
File Transfer Window:
-You can see the status of all of your uploads and downloads.
-Right-clicking on a transfer will bring up a list of options. |

Changing Your Name

Step 1:
-From the Control Panel click on Commands.
|

Step 2:
-Click on Settings.
|
 |
Step 3:
-Type in your name and description (optional).
-Click on Save.
You can also adjust:
-The colors for your user name
-Your icon (32x32) (right-click)
-Other options of the program |

Uploading Files
 |
Step 1:
-Go to the file Browser and navigate to the Upload folder. |
 |
Step 2:
-Click on the slanted lines in the upper-left corner of the File Browser.
(this pulls up the window options)
-Click on Upload. |
 |
Step 3:
-Navigate to the file(s) on your system that you want to upload.
-Single-click on the file to begin the upload.
If you are unable to complete your upload, just follow the steps above
and your upload will resume from where it left off. |

Step 4:
-Check the status of your upload here.
This window will inform you of your connection speed to the server, upload percentage, and an estimated time to finish. |

Downloading Files

Step 1:
-Go to the Files Browser and navigate to the file you want.
-Double click on the file you want and the download will start automatically.
If you are unable to complete your download, just follow the steps above and your download will resume from where it left off. |

Step 2:
-Check the status of your download here.
This window will inform you of your connection speed to the server, download percentage, and an estimated time to finish.

Step 3:
-When the download is complete, access it by double-clicking on the =MF=KDX Downloads shortcut on your desktop.
